Colorado Law continues to establish itself as a nationally recognized innovator and the regional leader in the evolving landscape of legal education. To that end, Business Insider recently ranked Colorado Law in the top 10 best law schools for networking, as well as in the top five best law schools for financial aid, according to a poll of more than 10,000 former and current law school students.
As the cost of legal education rises ever higher and law firms tighten their hiring and training, Colorado Law’s Action Plan emphasizes the need for students to receive a high-value education at a reasonable cost. Under the Action Plan, Colorado Law has held tuition constant for the past four years, has raised the level of scholarship support, and is providing an ever-more valuable experience. The results on the employment front are a more diversified and robust set of opportunities for Colorado Law graduates. And prospective students are noticing, with an increasing number of applications to Colorado Law (up more than 10 percent during the last year) at a time when applications are down nationwide.
Part of what makes Colorado Law so appealing to top students is the expansive network of peers, faculty, and alumni cultivated by the law school. Students at Colorado Law find themselves immersed in a vibrant, diverse community with a plethora of opportunities for engagement at multiple levels. Within the school, students network with each other through student organizations, events, distinguished lectures, and innovative programs such as the Tech Lawyer Accelerator. The award-winning faculty serves to help students access the greater legal community through projects such as Professor William Boyd's Governors' Climate & Forests Task Force, The Consumer Empowerment Project led by Professor Amy Schmitz, Professor Sarah Krakoff's Acequia Project, and Clinical Professor Ann England's Colorado Innocence Project.
"As recognized by our Action Plan, reinventing legal education is a team sport and the level of collaboration among our faculty, staff, students, alumni, and friends is truly exceptional," related Dean Phil Weiser. "At Colorado Law, we are committed to supporting our students in receiving a high value experience at a reasonable cost and these rankings underscore how our efforts to that end are having an impact."
