IDENTITY
by Alice Rose Crow

If identity is fluid

I'm glad for being raised on The River

Kussquqvak

I know which way the river runs

and can tell you
even when you see
only the incoming tide with a south wind

I know which way the river runs

And just so you know
I know the slug of Kings that sneak past
Fish and Games sonar
(pointing out constellations) the one presuming to measure
our number
our habits
our return home

Upstream
