FRUSTRATION AND ANGER
Mike Kobayashi

Anger
is when my eyes could pose as waterfalls
and my fists clinch tightly with authority.

Frustration
is being called a "gook" by a white honky-ass motherfucker
in an all-white community.

Anger
is standing up to that white boy and making his flesh bleed,
while holding a gun to his head.

Frustration
is being told, "Son, you can't date my
beautiful daughter, you're a Jap!"

Anger
is clenching my fists and lodging one
through my windshield, making myself bleed.

Frustration
is finally giving up
and pointing the gun at my own head
to remove myself
to a higher ground.
