Newsgathering Print
The MA Newsgathering print option is designed for students with limited academic or professional experience in news reporting and writing. It prepares students for careers in a wide variety of professional settings including newspapers and magazines, broadcast media outlets, online publishing and corporate communications.

A total of 36 hours is required for graduation.

Print students will produce a major product
typical of the work done by professionals in the
field e.g., a well-researched magazine article;
a package of opinion pieces; or a rationale, design
and mock-up for a magazine with sample articles.
Students will submit their products and accompanying
support materials at an oral defense before their
committee.
