Newsgathering Broadcast
The Newsgathering broadcast option is designed
for students with limited academic or professional
experience in news reporting and writing for
television. It prepares students for careers
in a wide variety of professional settings
including broadcast cable media outlets and
corporate communications.
Course Requirements for Newsgathering Broadcast Majors
A total of 36 credit hours for broadcast is
required for graduation.

Professional Project
Broadcast
students will produce a major product typical
of the work done by professionals in the field — e.g., a documentary or a magazine-length
video or a series of television news reports. Students
will submit their products and accompanying
support materials at an oral defense before their
committee.
