Project Information
The research for this project is being gathered ethnographically,
through in-depth interviews, discussion groups with teens, and observations.
A team of graduate students and faculty members work with teens
to develop understandings of Internet use and its implications for
the social networks in which they live (families, friends, etc.).
Findings that emerge in these interviews are then verified through
comparison with U.S. national survey results and through conversations
with youth experts from around the world. While there will be several
books that emerge out of this project, evolving analyses - both
directly from the research of this project and those written by
others that influence it - are available on this site by following
the publications link on the right navigation bar.
