Assistant Professor Lee Hood teaches broadcast news and related courses. She was an Emmy award-winning television news producer in Denver before returning to higher education, and also has experience in radio news and sports as well as newspapers. Hood holds a bachelor's degree in journalism from the University of Missouri. She earned her MA and PhD from the University of Colorado. Her doctoral dissertation, completed in 2001, was on the topic of local television news audiences. Her research interests also include media and localism, news production practices, and media use in families. She has been on the faculty since January 2000.
