Student shooters honored

News-Editorial students Barton Glasser, Matt Nager and Jake Pritchard combined to earn CU fifth place in the Intercollegiate Photojournalism Competition of the 44th Annual Hearst Journalism Awards Program.

Individually, Glasser, a senior, won fifth place in the News & Sports category and 11th in the Portait/Personality & Feature category. Nager was ninth in Sports & News and Pritchard was 13th in the Picture Story/Series category.

Pritchard and Glasser also placed in last year’s competitions.

For each of the three categories in the Hearst photojournalism competitions, up to two contestants from each college are allowed to submit photographs that had been published no earlier than Sept. 1, 2002.
