Assistant Dean Meg Moritz
Associate Dean Meg Moritz taught NewsTeam in the fall and was a visiting professor at La Sorbonne in Paris in the spring.
Moritz has made contributions to the School by recruiting respected professionals to visit her NewsTeam classes. Last year, Av Westin, former president of ABC, and Tomas Etzler, a CNN-International producer who covered the capture of Saddam Hussein, both came to speak to her classes.
Moritz has received five grants to expand and improve the SchoolÕs course offerings during the summer, which have helped build the summer curriculum. Courses added included:
- Writing Across Media, taught by James Schiffman of CNN.
- Media Ethics, taught by David Bernknopf of Atmira Communications.
- Media and War, taught by Professor Robert Skippon, University of Paris.
Moritz continues to research and discuss gay representation in the United States. She has worked on documentary projects that take a closer look at the media treatment of gay marriage in Colorado. In addition, she continues to research and write about the issues of media and trauma, a subject of lecture she has given and the Sorbonne and at UNESCO in Paris.
