Alums gather at D.C. reception
In April, Dean Paul Voakes hosted what may have been the first Washington, D.C., SJMC alumni reception at the National Press Club. More than 60 alumni and their guests, along with two students interning in D.C., enjoyed the evening event in the Zenger Room at the club.

Dean Voakes gives Ida Uchill ('39), in foreground at right, a CU "hoodie" sweatshirt for representing the earliest class at the reception. Uchill, who moved to the D.C. area from Denver, has written two books, "Pioneers, Peddlers and Tsadikim: The Story of the Jews in Colorado" (University Press of Colorado) and "Howdy Sucker! What P.T. Barnum Did in Colorado."
