The '90s

Audrey Moskowitz ('90) was named director of national sales and distribution for the HorseTV Channel. She works out of the network's Denver office and negotiates sales and distribution for the network with U.S. cable operators. Before that, she was manager of local programming and marketing for EchoStar Satellite LLC in Englewood, where she was responsible for launching local television markets throughout the U.S. on DISH Network. She lives in Parker.

John Russell ('90) of the Steamboat Pilot and Today won first place in sports column writing, second and third place in news photo and second place in photo essay in the Colorado Press Association's 2005 Better Newspaper Contest in February. He also won second place in sports column writing and third place in spot news photography in the Colorado Associated Press Editors and Reporters contest in February.

Andrew Beadle ('91) is a public affairs writer for the Department of Justice in Washington, D.C.

Carolyn Hinkley ('91) is a public affairs specialist at the Western Area Power Administration. She had a baby,  Elizabeth Catherine, in January. The family lives in Littleton. cehink@att.net

Betty James ('91) is a medical-legal consultant and founder of Salem Resistance, a group that opposes war and promotes restoration of democracy and civil liberties. She lives in Salem, Ore.

Laura Slavik ('91), who edited Seattle University's alumni magazine for three years, and her husband plan to relocate to Paris after traveling to South America this spring.

David Boyd ('95) joined the U.S. Bureau of Land Management field office in Glenwood Springs as public affairs specialist. He works for the Kremmling, Little Snake, White River and Glenwood offices. Before that, he was public affairs specialist for the BLM's Arizona Strip District office in St. George, Utah.

Michael Kelly (MA'95) of the Longmont Daily Times-Call won third place in sports column writing in the Colorado Associated Press Editors and Reporters contest in February.

Jamie Kim ('96) left her producing job at KMGH-Channel 4 in Denver for a producing and reporting job at KUSA-Channel 9.

Melissa Roddy ('96), former city editor of the Hayden Valley Press, won first place in headline writing in the Colorado Press Association's 2005 Better Newspaper Contest in February. She works for The News Journal of Wilmington, Del.

Denny Wilkins (Ph.D. '96) received the Stolberg Award at the 15th annual Society of Environmental Journalists conference for having copyedited SEJ material for free for many years. He is an associate professor of journalism and communications at St. Bonaventure University in Olean, N.Y.

Keri Barron ('97) is a unit production manager at G4 Television for Comcast in Hermosa Beach, Calif. keribarron@hotmail.com

LeWonnie Belcher ('97) is a public affairs specialist for the U.S. Air Force and Department of Defense at the National Guard Bureau in Washington, D.C. She is a major in the U.S. Air Force Reserve.

Steve Graham ('97) and two others from the Golden Transcript won second place in editorial writing in the Colorado Press Association's 2005 Better Newspaper Contest in February.

Carrie Luebcke McClure ('97) was promoted to Monday-through-Friday nightside reporter at KUSA-Channel 9 in Denver.

Jad Davenport (MA'98) is in the fourth year of his free-lance travel writing and photography business. His clients include Men's Journal, National Geographic Adventure, Modern Bride, Islands, Orient Express and Caribbean Travel & Life.

Alain Lapter ('98) graduated from George Washington University School of Law in May 2005 with a concentration on  intellectual property law. He is a trademark attorney with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office in Alexandria, Va. He was married in October 2005.

Patrice Quintero ('98) was promoted to senior communications specialist at Colorado Springs Utilities. She continues to lead all strategic internal communication efforts and is also pursuing a public relations accreditation through the Public Relations Society of America.

Tim Skillern ('98) of the Rocky Mountain News won first place in online special package with another writer in the Colorado Associated Press Editors and Reporters contest in February.

Alissa Walker ('98) is a design writer who contributes to STEP Inside Design, Dynamic Graphics, HOW and The Los Angeles Times. She is also a production assistant on the public radio show "DnA: Design and Architecture." alissa@gelatobaby.com

Nicky DeFord ('99) is the communications manager at Breckenridge Ski Resort.

Shannon McCotter Hunt ('99) is a senior producer on a weekend prime-time show on the Fox News Network in New York. She was previously with MSNBC.

Sean Kelly ('99), formerly of The Denver Post, won first place in news story writing in the Colorado Press Association's 2005 Better Newspaper Contest in February. He is studying law at Duke.

Courtney Oakes ('99) of The Aurora Sentinel won first and third place in sports event story writing and third place in sports column writing in the Colorado Press Association's 2005 Better Newspaper Contest in February.

Dan Perlet ('99) moved to New York City after completing his graduate degree in social and public communication at the London School of Economics. He has taken a role as vice president for Porter Novelli, a public relations firm. dan.perlet@lycos.com
