Diversity Scholarships go to Journalism Freshmen
The CU-Boulder Office of Diversity has awarded five more scholarships from the CU-Boulder Leadership, Excellence, Achievement and Diversity Alliance Program to the School for incoming freshmen in the 2002-2003 academic year.
The Schools first five LEAD scholars began studies in the fall of 2001.
Five prospective journalism students have been awarded $1,000 LEAD Alliance scholarships to attend CU in fall 2003.
Professor Stewart Hoover and Associate Professor Jan Whitt were honored at a November luncheon by LEAD Scholars Antonio Castro and Sofia Sellers for their work with in Journalism 1001.
Castro and Sellers are freshmen participants in the program.
The LEAD scholarship program offers services and financial benefits for highly motivated students of color and first-generation college students.
