Hood finished her dissertation in August, she said. The title was The Local News Audience and Sense of Place: A Home in the Global Village. Its a different way to understand the audience relationship to local news. I argue that news is one of the frames through which people experience their locale, their place in the world, and that such a relationship makes it an entity worth preserving and improving, Hood said. She said her next be project is getting her daughter, Rebecca, off to a good start in kindergarten in the fall. Hood is program chair for the Radio-TV Journalism division of the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication. Lee.Hood@Colorado.edu |
