Beth Mende Conny brings the write stuff to the Internet


The words just don't stop coming for Beth Mende Conny ('87 MA).

"I've authored, edited and ghosted more than two dozen books, plus I've free-lanced for a bunch of pubs, including The Washington Post," said Conny.

She lives near Washington in Frederick, Md.

"I have just completed two more books for Peter Pauper Press, 'Dare to Believe' and 'Girls Rule.' " Both will be published in fall 2000.

Now, Conny, who taught at the School in the late 1980s, has taken her talents to the World Wide Web.

"My latest venture, and by far the most fun, is Write Directions. It's a virtual writing institute through which I, and a bunch of other veteran writers, teach all aspects of nonfiction and fiction writing via teleclasses," she said.

Conny said some of the offerings could be helpful to journalists, such as the Personality Profiles class, taught by a People magazine writer. Beth can be reached at:
