Mindy Kiger talks with a student after one of her advertising classes

Advertising professional Mindy Kiger has moved out of the urban fast lane and into Macky full time.

"My husband and I moved to Boulder to get away from big-city life," she said. "We live in the University Hill area with our two dogs and a cat."

Between 1981 and 1995 she worked in New York City.

"I spent 10 years at Ogilvy & Mather," she said. When she left her title was senior partner, associate media director. She managed 20 people and ran several training programs for the agency."I was responsible for media operations for clients like Kimberly-Clark, Duracell Batteries and SmithKline Beecham OTC products," she said.

At the School, Kiger is already a familiar face to many advertising students. Since the spring 1996 semester, she has been an adjunct instructor.

"Currently, I teach several advertising classes: ad media, ad research and campaigns. In the IMC (Integrated Marketing Communications) program, I teach Zero-Based Communications Planning. I am also the adviser for the American Advertising Federation University of Colorado Ad Club.

She said she enjoys all the time she now spends on campus.

"The most rewarding part of teaching is the interaction with the students.

"They are interesting, challenging and a lot of fun."
