In memoriam

The School lost graduate program assistant Ruth Bracey on July 14, 2007. For more than six years, she was "the efficient, gentle shepherd of about 100 graduate students (and one associate dean)," said Dean Paul Voakes. "It's a role that threw innumerable crises into her lap, yet no crisis ever seemed to erase that smile. Ruth was never stumped." She died of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis at the age of 60.

On Aug. 18, Gloria Jeanne Alexander Palmer, a proud CU alum and wife of Bob Palmer ('60), longtime Denver TV newsman and former member of the SJMC Advisory Board, died at her home in Morrison. The Palmers had been married 55 years. She was 76. The Bob and Gloria Palmer Endowed Scholarship was created in 1997. Her obituary is at www.legacy.com/denver.
