Kim Hackett ('99), or "Sassy" as she's known to her listeners, is a radio personality and 95 Rock KKNN-FM program director in Grand Junction. She said that when she's not working, she'll be "hanging out with friends, mullet watching or screening the latest TV episode of 'Days of Our Lives.' " For the past four years, Hackett, 26, has been working for Cumulus Broadcasting, which owns several Grand Junction radio stations. She said she began her career there in June 1999 and quickly worked her way up the ladder. Her first radio show aired from 6 p.m. to midnight on 95 Rock, where she played music from bands such as AC/DC and Led Zeppelin and "talked trash" in between, she said. After six months, Hackett said she was promoted to the station's midday show. "The lunchtime crowd was a little different than the drunken night crowd but still a blast," she said. Two months after that stint, she was again promoted, this time to assistant program director. In late 2000, her program director left the station and Hackett filled the spot. During that time, she juggled midday and afternoon shows until she joined the coveted morning slot in September 2001. "Sassy and the Loud Guy," as their show is known, can now be heard every weekday morning from 6 to 10 on 95 Rock (www.95rockonline.com). Her partner is Mitch Micheau. During her three years as program director, Hackett said, "I have helped take the station and the morning show to No. 1, book after book." – Erin Quinn
