The Colorado Association of Black Journalists gave her a 2003 Scribes in Excellence Award. Inis Clubs ('94) was the grand-prize winner of the 2003 American Screenwriters Association (ASA) and Writer's Digest International Screenwriting Competition. The award was given in recognition of her script "Curtain of Iron." She was given the award and $5,000 at the 16th annual ASA International Screenwriters Conference in Hollywood. She will also receive ASA and Writer's Digest assistance in pitching her story to Hollywood; free screenwriting resources; the Mick Caswell Award for Screenwriting Excellence; and meetings with producers and production companies.
