David Shneer, Louis P. Singer Endowed Chair in Jewish History and Professor of History, Religious Studies and Jewish Studies, was recently selected as a recipient of the BFA Faculty Recognition Award by the University of Colorado Boulder's Boulder Faculty Assembly. This award is given to faculty members who have demonstrated continued support of the CU community through their service activities.
Paul Chinowsky, Mortenson Professor of Sustainable Development in the Department of Civil, Environmental, and Architectural Engineering, states, "David has worked extensively to enhance the position of CU in the world of Jewish Studies. Through his work on the Holocaust and the acquisition of the Mazal Holocaust Collection, he has led the effort that now places CU among the leading institutions in terms of Holocaust documents and collections. This focus is not only beneficial to his own research; it also provides a significant benefit to the CU Community as a whole."
