IT Security Training—FAQ

How do I access the course?

Open a web browser and go to http://blackboard.cuonline.edu. Use your employee ID as the username and password.

If you are having a difficult time accessing the course, click here for detailed instructions.

I was hired after the automatic enrollment date, how do I take the course?

Employees hired after the registration date for each group will need to self-register for the courses. This can be done by clicking on the "UCB Training" tab in blackboard.cuonline.edu. Look for the "Information Privacy and Security" classes and click on the Enroll button.

I took the training and it does not show up on the My.Training tab on My.CU. Why is this?

There can be a two business day delay after you take the training and it is displayed in My.CU.

It has been more than two business days and the basic training is still not listed, what should I do?

Log back into http://blackboard.cuonline.edu and select the "Information Privacy and Security Basic Course." Make sure you have completed the " Acknowledgement of Responsibilities" in addition to the "Information Privacy and Security Quiz." If your training history in blackboard indicates you have completed a training module that is not listed in MyCU please contact CU Online at 303-556-6505 or e-mail them at help@cuonline.edu. Please have your Employee ID ready.

We have employees who are not proficient in English and need extra assistance, how will they take the test?

Appointing authorities should contact IT Security Office for additional information for policy exceptions.
