Disabling Internet Connection Sharing (ICS) for Windows VPN Installation

Note: Users having problems with the VPN client may have to disable Internet Connection Sharing in order to allow the client to function properly. As long as disabling the connection works properly, you may be able to re-enable ICS once you are done working with the VPN client. If following the instructions below does not allow the VPN to work properly still, it may be necessary to remove ICS. For removal instructions, please call 303-735-HELP (4357) and request these instructions for VPN troubleshooting.

1. Click Start --> Control Panel

2. Double-click the Network Connections icon

3. You will get a window providing you a list of all of your available network connections. You may need to repeat the following steps for each connection until all connections have had ICS disabled. Right click on a connection and select Properties.

4. Click the Advanced tab at the top of the window that appears.

5. Make sure that the first checkbox in the sections labeled Internet Connection Sharing is UNCHECKED.

6. Click OK and repeat the process on any other available connections.
