OverviewITS provides software support for laptop and desktop workstations to faculty and staff of the CU Boulder campus. Support includes new computer setup, troubleshooting, installing, and configuring of desktop operating systems and applications, within the parameters of ITS' Supported Software and HW Standards. The following colleges and schools are participating in the Dedicated Desktop Support Program, which allows for a desktop support technician to provide dedicated technical support to a college or school for a specified number of hours each week:
These dedicated support technicians are funded cooperatively by ITS and the school/college/ They are centrally managed by ITS, locally positioned within the academic unit they serve, and jointly commissioned by ITS and the academic unit. Faculty and Staff in need of Desktop Support (whether dedicated or not) can call the IT Service center at 5-HELP to schedule an appointment. Bugbuster Walk-In Center ITS offers desktop support for laptops and desktops on a first-come, first-served basis at our Walk-In Center located in Room 119 of the Telecommunications Building. The Walk-In Center is staffed with desktop support technicians from 10am-3pm, Monday through Friday, with extended hours at the beginning of each Fall and Spring Semester. Customers with desktops need not bring peripherals (keyboard, monitor, mouse) in order to receive assistance. However, customers with laptop computers should bring their CD-ROM drive and power supply. |
