IT Security Information - Desktop Management Including Antivirus and Patches

Overview

• The operating system on every desktop should be kept up-to-date. ITS has documentation available on how to configure your computer for automatic updates. ITS also has documentation for running Windows Update manually.
• Other applications such as Microsoft Office should also be kept up to date. Microsoft Office can be updated by connecting to http://office.microsoft.com/officeupdate/default.aspx

Don't forget that every desktop computer should have current and up-to-date antivirus software. ITS has a campus license which can be downloaded from here or faculty and staff can contact the IT Service Center to schedule an installation of the software.
