Encrypt Your E-mail

If you are using an e-mail program you need to encrypt your messages by configuring your software for secure connections, also known as SSL (Secure Sockets Layer).

WebMail Users
The CU web based e-mail program WebMail, which most students and some Faculty and Staff are using, has SSL built into it, and therefore does not need to be reconfigured for secure connections.

What do I need to do to encrypt my e-mail?

Configure your e-mail client for SSL.
