Upgrade to Version 8—Windows Vista

Tip! Remember, you only have to upgrade if you are using version 7. If you downloaded CUantivirus after March 1, 2008 you have version 8 and don't have to upgrade.

Step 1. Check your version

1. Right-click on the CUantivirus icon in the bottom-right corner of your screen and select About.

(Note: if you do not have an icon there, just open the CUantivirus application.)

2. The application will open.

There are two scenarios at this point:

Scenario A - You have to upgrade to version 8

A window will appear that lists the Product Version: as 7.x. You now have to uninstall this version, and then install version 8. Continue on to Step 2. Install version 8.

Scenario B - You don't have to upgrade

On the Summary tab, in the eTrust ITM Information section, refer to the Release column. If the first number listed is 8, you do not have to upgrade.

Step 2. Install version 8

To upgrade version 7, all you have to do is install version 8.

Step 3. Learn how to use version 8

After installing version 8, learn how to use it.
