ITS Distributed Software

CUantivirus Compatible Released on 8/15/07, version 8.1 works on Windows Vista
Spider, Version 2.x Not Compatible Does not work with Vista. A new program is in development.
SSH Compatible Works fine with Vista.

ITS Services

Software Name Compatibility Status Description
AD Sync Compatible Works fine in Vista using Internet Explorer 7.x and Firefox 2.x
CUConnect Compatible Works fine in Vista using Internet Explorer 7.x and Firefox 2.x
CULearn Partially Compatible Works best with Java version 1.5.07.
CULink Partially Compatible CULink web client functions the same on Vista as it does on Windows XP. Known issues exist for this application on Internet Explorer 7.x. See www.colorado.edu/its/ culink/knownissues.html for more information.
Hippo Compatible All tools work fine in Vista using Internet Explorer 7.x
Network Registration Partially Compatible When a web browser is opened to register the computer on the network, the browser doesn’t automatically redirect to the registration page. The user will need to enter in http://dhcp.colorado.edu manually. Once the computer recognizes a Colorado domain, any future requests to register the computer will work fine.
WebCal Compatible Works fine in Vista using Internet Explorer 7.x and Firefox 2.x
Zero Compatible All tools work fine in Vista using Internet Explorer 7.x

Additional Supported Applications

Software Name Compatibility Status Description
AutoCad, Version 2006 Not Compatible According to vendor’s website there will be no support for this version under Windows Vista. Installs without errors, but will not run at all.
AutoCad, Version 2007 Compatible Requires Service Pack 2 to work with Vista. Service Pack 2 must be installed on a version that has not been upgraded to Service Pack 1. Software does run using a default install, however, Vista will complain that the software is not compatible on startup even with Service Pack 2 installed. As long as users select Run Anyway the software does work.
AutoCad, Version 2008 Compatible Vendor states that this version is fully compatible with Vista in both 32 and 64 bit versions.
Pine, Version 4.64 Compatible Runs under SSH on Unix hosts. PC-Pine 4.64 also works, but it must be installed in a non-standard directory for the configuration settings to be changed properly.
Eudora, Version 7.x Compatible Works with the default install and the Eudora instructions posted on CULink.
Firefox, Version 2.x Compatible Works using all default options during install.
Thunderbird, Version 2.x Compatible Worked with the default install options. There was some trouble saving sent messages to the CULink sever which is a default, but the mail was sent. The settings interface has changed since our instructions for CULink were written so a little more effort was required to configure – not Vista specific.
PrimoPDF, Version 3.1 Compatible Works with the default options for installing.
WinZip Compatible Works correctly using default settings. Usurps the built in unzip functionality from Vista – most likely does this in XP as well.
iClicker Compatible Informal testing by the vendor (iClicker) has shown no problems when using iClicker and iGrader software with Windows Vista, though the applications have not yet been officially tested with Vista. Official Windows Vista testing and support will likely be included with the new release of iClicker and iGrader, which is scheduled for this summer.
