Make sure before you order your computer that you understand how the FCPP process works. Procedures for Ordering1.While you may order any computer which meets ITS' hardware requirements for new computers, Apple and Dell computers currently get authorized warranty service from our PC Maintenance center, and help with special prices and ordering from the CU Bookstore's Buffalo Chip (303-492-3431). For help in choosing the right Apple, HP or Dell system, browse for options online at their sites customized for CU; AppleRockies, CampusHP, or Dell Portal, respectively. (For other brands, use their generic Educational sites.) Before ordering an Apple or HP or Sony computer, contact the Buffalo Chip (2-3431) in case they have the computer in stock, possibly at a special price. 2. Order your computer using a department ACARD if possible. 3. When you have ordered the computer, submit the relevent information online at the FCPP reimbursement request website. Alternatively, email the informaton to fcpp@colorado.edu. 4. Once your computer arrives at your office, call 5-HELP to schedule a BugBuster appointment if you would like assistance in setting up your new computer. This service includes setting system passwords, ensuring encrypted authentication, and installing the Microsoft Office suite, and a virus protection application. If you have additional applications you would like installed, or need data transferred from an old computer to the new one, please specify this when you call 5-HELP.
