Internet Explorer 7 — Installation |

You may be able to download the upgrade through Windows Update or to download the installer directly from the Microsoft web site. The instructions below demonstrate the installation of Internet Explorer 7. It is recommended that you print these instructions, because the last few steps of these instructions will need to be performed after you restart your computer. Internet Explorer 7 - Installation1. When the installer opens, click on Next button, as shown below:
2. Read through the license terms and click on the I Accept button, as shown below:
3. To continue the installation of Internet Explorer 7 you will have to validate your copy of Microsoft Windows. To do so, click on the Validate button.
4. If your copy of Microsoft Windows has been successfully validate, the latest updates window will open. Checkmark Install the latest updates for Internet Explorer and the Microsoft Malicious Software Removal Tool (recommended) option. Then click on the Next button, as shown below:
5. The Internet Explorer 7 installer will process through a series of steps. This process does not require any interaction onf your part and it may take a while. The image below demonstrates this process.
6. Once the installation process is complete, you will be asked to restart your computer. BEFORE you do this, please read or print the instructions below. Enabling the Anti-Phishing Filter1. After you have restarted your computer, a Internet Explorer 7 icon will appear on your desktop. Double click on the Internet Explorer 7 icon, as shown below:
2. If this is the first time you have opened Internet Explorer after the installation, A settings and customization web page will open. Please pay particular attention to the Optional Settings section, outlined below:
3. In the Help make your browsing more secure by setting up Phishing Filter section, checkmark Turn on automatic Phishing Filter (recommended), as shown below:
4. After making this selection, click on Save settings, as shown below:
5. After saving your settings, a new web page will load informing you that your settings have been saved, as shown below:
Note: If the settings and customization web page didn't appear when you opened Internet Explorer 7, you can ensure that the phishing filter has been enabled by following the directions at www.colorado.edu/its/docs/security/internetexplorer. Get Help |
