Clearing a Web Browser’s Cache for:

Clearing a web browser’s cache can correct problems you may have using a web browser while on the CU-Boulder network or using an ITS web based program, like CULearn or CULink . ITS recommends that you perform this simple step before you start to surf the Web for the first time on the campus network.

Windows Internet Explorer 8.x:

1. Click on the Safety drop-down menu

2. Select Delete Browsing History

3. In the window that opens, click on Temporary Internet Files and History

4. Click Delete

Windows Internet Explorer 7.x:

1. Click on the Tools drop-down menu

2. Select Delete Browsing History


3. In the window that opens, click on the Delete files button

4. When asked “Are you sure you want to delete all temporary Internet Explorer files?” Click on the Yes button.

Windows Firefox 3.x:

1. Click on the Tools drop-down menu

2. Select Clear Private Data



3. A menu will open. Check mark Cache

4. Click on the Clear Private Data Now button


Macintosh Firefox 3.x:

1. Click on the Tools drop-down menu

2. Select Clear Private Data


3. A menu will open. Check mark Cache

4. Click on the Clear Private Data Now button

Macintosh Safari 2.x:

1. Click on the Safari drop-down menu

2. Select Empty Cache



3. When asked if you want to empty the cache, click on the Empty button
