Before you install:
- To use the GUI interface you must have a web server and web browser
installed on the system. The GUI interface has been tested with Netscape
Navigator 4.5 and greater, Mozilla 1.7 and greater, and Firefox 0.8.
- Your system must have 150 free disk during the installation.
- eTrust support most systems running the Linux 2.4 kernel including
Red Hat 7.x and above, RedHat Enterprise Linux 2.1 and highter, SuSE
7.2 and higher.
- To run the Realtime Monitor you may need to rebuild the Linux kernel
which will require kernel source code.

Installation Instructions
You must be superuser to install CUantivirus.
1. Make sure the setup script is executable (i.e., run chmod +x setup).
2. Run the setup script (i.e., ./setup).
3. The installation process will begin and you will be asked the following
questions:
- Specify installation directory [/opt/CA/eTrustAntivirus]:
- On most systems the default location will be acceptable.
- ENTER "Y" TO ACCEPT THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF THIS
AGREEMENT AS SET FORTH ABOVE AND PROCEED WITH THE INSTALLATION PROCESS.
- Pressing "Y" will continue and "N" will exit the installation.
- Enter the License Key
- Enter the license number recorded earlier.
- Do you want to run the Administrative Server on this system? (y/n)
(default: n)
- In most cases you will press "N" unless you are managing multiple
systems. If you install the Administrative Server please review
the Tier 2 CSR
instructions.
- Do you want eTrust Antivirus to start up at boot time? (y/n) (default:
n)
- On most systems you should press "Y" to start the software at
boot.
- Do you wish to install CAIENF? (y/n) (default: y)
- Press "Y" to load the notification service which is required for
the real-time monitor.
4. To start eTrust Antivirus, enter:
CAIGLBL0000=/opt/CA/eTrustAntivirus
export CAIGLBL0000
. /opt/CA/eTrustAntivirus/scripts/envusr
InoStart
In subsequent sessions, you will only need the InoStart command.
To launch the eTrust GUI connect to http://localhost/ino
