Definitions

PDA – Personal Digital Assistant

Personal Digital Assistant - A small hand-held computer typically providing calendar, contacts, and note-taking applications but may include other applications, for example: a web browser and media player. Small keyboards and pen-based input systems are most commonly used for input.

“Handheld” or “Handheld computer” or “palmtop” – Synonymous with Personal Digital Assistant/PDA.

Conduit – A conduit specifies how to transfer and translate data between your PDA and desktop computer for a specific PDA application or database during synchronization.

Note: ITS supports the synchronization operation including assistance with the installation of Palm OS or Pocket PC applications. ITS does not have the resources to support applications after they have been installed on a PDA.
