Windows Vista Configuration Instructions

| Before connecting to any Internet service you will want to make sure that you are using your operating system's firewall.
1. Click the Start button, and select Control Panel,
2. Below Network and Internet select View network status and tasks, and then click on View Status.
3. The Local Area Connection Status window will open. Click on Properties.
4. The Local Area Connection Properties window will open. Select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and click on Properties.
5. Internet Protocol Version 4 Properties will open. Click the radio button for both Obtain IP address automatically as well as Obtain DNS Server address automatically. Click the OK button to close this window.
6. Now you may close every window, as your Network should be configured for DHCP. 7. Restart your computer. 8. Once your computer is restarted open a web browser and go to www.colorado.edu. In some cases, you may be asked to register your computer on the network. If you register your computer, you should clear your web browser's cache after registration.
