Overview
Instructions1. Click the Start menu. Next, click on the Control Panel.
2. Click on the Network and Internet Connections menu option.
3. Next, click Network Connections from the new menu.
4. Find the Local Area Connection icon. Right-click on the icon. Click Properties from the drop-down menu.
5. In the window that opens, click on the Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) (you may need to scroll down to find it). Next, click on the Properties button.
6. In the window that opens, click the Use the following IP address: radio button. In the IP address:, Subnet mask:, and Default gateway: number fields, insert the numbers that were assigned to you by ITS. Note: The numbers shown in the screen shot are just for display purposes.
7. Next, click the Use the following DNS server addresses: radio button. Next, in the Preferred DNS server:, and Alternate DNS server: number fields, input the numbers that were assigned by ITS. Then click the OK button.
8. Click the OK button again in the other open window to save the new settings. You should now be able to start using the internet. If the internet doesn't start working right away, try restarting the computer and try again.
