1. Start by opening the System Preferences by clicking on it in the dock or choosing it from the Apple menu.

2. Next, select the Network, as shown below:

3. In the Network window that opens make sure the Location drop down menu is set to Automatic and the Show menu is set to Built-in Ethernet.

4. Select Using DHCP from the Configure Ipv4 drop-down menu.

5. Once you've completed steps 3 and 4, click on the Apply Now button . Your new settings will take effect.

6. Close the Network window.

7. Open a web browser to test your connection. In some instances, you may be asked to register your computer onto CU-Boulder's network.

If you do not have Internet connectivity, open the Network preference pane again and click the Renew DHCP Lease button and watch to see if the IP Address changes.
