IT Service Center-Supported Hardware and Software

More about why standards were established
ITS' supported standards were developed with extensive input from numerous focus groups of students, faculty and staff and will be reviewed annually in a similar manner. All reviews have and will continue to assume that desktop hardware has a useful economic life of three years on average, and that software versions can be effectively supported by the IT Service Center for about two years after their release.

Beginning on July 1st, 2000, the list of software and hardware will be used by IT Service Center personnel to guide their responses to support requests. Older hardware and software will be evaluated for supportability on a case-by-case basis at no charge. Service requests for hardware and software that are outside this list, and which cannot be supported by IT Service Center staff, will be referred appropriately to ITS core experts (who may charge a fee for their services), manufacturers or other service providers.

In preparation, we strongly suggest that you ensure that the technology that is used in your area of responsibility fits with in the bounds of these supported standards, or that you have adequate personnel support in place to manage hardware and software systems that may deviate from these standards. If you require a paper copy of the list, please call Kathi Vito at x54887 to obtain a copy. Should you require further information or assistance, please call Ken Schuetz at x21283 or Mike Matthies at x28179. The general number for requesting support from the IT Service Center is 303-735-HELP (735-4357).

ITS thanks you in advance for your cooperation.
