Overview

You can set up Windows to do automatic system updates. To do so, follow the instructions below:

Windows XP

1. Open the Windows Control Panel from the Start Menu

2. Open the System control panel

3. Select the Automatic Updates tab

4. Check the Keep my computer up to date checkbox and select Download the updates automatically… as shown below

5. Click on the OK button and you are done.

Windows Vista

1. Open the Windows Control Panel from the Start Menu.

2. Open the Windows Update control panel.

3. Select the Change Settings option.

4. Click the Install updates automatically button and select to install updates Every day... as shown below

5. Click on the OK button.

6. It might be helpful to click on the Install Updates button in between updates
