ITS's Microsoft Exchange Service—Configuring a a Palm OS device

ITS Help Documents >> ITS E-mail and Calendar Services Documentation >> ITS's Microsoft Exchange Service >> Configuring Microsoft Exchange Service for a a Palm OS device

Overview

If you haven't already configured your Palm OS device device to use Exchange or synced it with your computer, follow the directions below. If you have previously synced your device with a computer, the instructions might be slightly different. With Exchange configured, you will be able to view the account's various mailboxes, and create custom mailboxes.

Instructions

1. Navigate to the Home screen, or press the Home button on the keyboard.

2. Select Email. (Note: If your e-mail icon is labeled Versamail, you are running an older version of Palm OS. You may need to upgrade to have full compatibility with Microsoft Exchange software).

3. Enter Exchange for the Account Name (or something else to help you identify your account).

4. Enter Exchange Activesync for the Mail Service. Then, select Next.

5. Enter your CU Login name and IdentiKey password.

6. Enter exchange.colorado.edu for the mail server.

7. Select Next.

8. Follow the remaining instructions to set up an account (e.g. selecting folders to sync, etc). Your Palm OS device should sync with the server when you're finished.

9. Your Exchange account will be setup and ready to be used with your Palm OS device. If you have any issues, check the instructions that were included with your Palm OS device, or contact the IT Service Center.
