Configuring E-mail Programs for CULink — Outlook 2007 |

If you need assistance in setting up your new account, this document will walk you through setting up a CULink account. This document will demonstrate how to set up your CULink e-mail account in Outlook 2007. Instructions1. Open Outlook 2007. If this is your first time starting Windows Mail, the Setup Wizard will automatically start. Please skip to step 4. 2. Click on the Tools menu. Choose Account Settings... from the drop-down menu.
3. A pop-up window will appear, and the default tab is E-mail. Click the New... button to start the e-mail account wizard. Now, skip down to step 7.
4. The new account creation wizard will appear automatically if this is your first time starting Outlook 2007. Click the Next button.
5. Choose the Do not upgrade option. Then, click Next.
6. The wizard will ask if you would like to configure an E-mail account. Choose Yes. Then, click Next.
7. Choose the Internet E-mail option from the e-mail services given. Then, click Next.
8. In the User Information area, type your full name and e-mail address in the text fields provided.
9. In the Server Information area, choose IMAP from the Account Type: drop-down menu. In the Incoming mail server: text field, type culink.colorado.edu. In the Outgoing mail server (SMTP): text field, type smtp.colorado.edu.
10. In the Logon Information area, type in your CU Login Name and IdentiKey password in the text field given. Note that choosing the Remember password check box saves your password so you won't have to re-enter it everytime you start Outlook 2007. Check the Require logon using Secure Password Authentication (SPA) check box.
11. Click the More Settings ... button.
12. Click the Outgoing Server tab.
13. Click the My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication check box. Be sure that the Use same settings as my incoming mail server radio button is also chosen.
14. Click the Advanced tab. Be sure that the drop-down menu under the Incoming server (IMAP): is set to SSL, and the menu under the Outgoing server (SMTP): is set to TLS.
15. Under the Folders area, in the Root folder path: text field, type INBOX in all caps. Please note that this is case sensitive. Then, click OK.
16. Now, click the Test Account Settings ... button. If you get an error message, please check to be sure you entered your login and password correctly. If you continue to get an error message, you need to call the IT Service Center.
17. Click the Next button.
18. The wizard is now complete. Click Finish.
19. Click the Inbox folder from the list provided under your e-mail address.
20. You are now all set-up to use your CULink e-mail account with Outlook 2007.
