Configuring E-mail Programs for CULink — Eudora for Macintosh

Overview

If you are familiar with setting up an e-mail account with Eudora, you can skip to the Quick Start Configuration Settings. If you need assistance in setting up your new account, this document will walk you through setting up a CULink account. You can configure Eudora to send and receive CULink e-mail messages. These instructions are for all CULink e-mail users (faculty, staff, students, and sponsored affiliates).

Instructions

Note: these instructions are based off Eudora version 6.2.x on Macintosh operating systems.

1. Click on the Special drop-down menu and select Settings....

2. The Settings window will open, click on the Getting Started option.

3. In the Checking Mail section enter your information:

  1. In the User Name: text field, enter your CU Login Name.
  2. In the Mail Server: text field, enter culink.colorado.edu.

4. In the Sending Mail section, enter your information:

  1. In the Real Name: text field, enter your first and last name.
  2. In the SMTP Server: text field, enter smtp.colorado.edu.
  3. In the Email Address: text field, enter your e-mail address. Please use the first.last@colorado.edu format.

5. Click on the Sending Mail option, as shown below:

6. Make sure that Allow authorization is check marked.

7. In the left part of the Settings window, scroll down and click on the SSL option, as shown below:

8. For the SSL for SMTP: drop-down menu select Required (TLS).

9. For the SSL for IMAP: drop-down menu, select Required (Alternate Port).

10. Click on the OK button.

11. You can begin using Eudora to send and receive CULink e-mail messages.

Quick Start Configuration Settings

  • Incoming Mail Server
    • Type:  IMAP
    • Host: culink.colorado.edu
      • SSL Enabled
      • Authentication: Password
      • Port: 993
    • User name: your CU Login name
    • Password: your IdentiKey password
    • Root Folder Path: INBOX
  • Outgoing Mail Server
    • Type: SMTP
    • Host: smtp.colorado.edu
      • TLS Enabled
      • Authentication: Password
      • Port: 25
    • User name: your CU Login name
    • Password: your IdentiKey password
