Configuring E-mail Programs for CULink — Entourage 2008

Overview

If you are familiar with setting up an e-mail account with Entourage, you can skip to the Quick Start Configuration Settings. If you need assistance in setting up your new account, this document will walk you through setting up a CULink account. You can configure Entourage 2008 to send and receive CULink e-mail messages. These instructions are for all CULink e-mail users (faculty, staff, students, and sponsored affiliates).

Instructions

1. Click on the Tools drop-down menu and select Accounts.

2. The Accounts window will open. Click on the New button.

3. The New Account window will open. Click on the Account type: drop-down menu and select IMAP.

4. Click on the OK button.

5. The Edit Account window will open. In the Account name: text field enter CULink.

6. In the Personal information section, enter your first and last name and your e-mail address. Please use the first.last@colorado.edu format.

7. Now enter information into the Receiving mail section.

  1. In the Account ID: text field enter your CU Login Name
  2. In the IMAP server: text field enter culink.colorado.edu
  3. In the Password: text field enter your IdentiKey password.

8. Now enter information into Sending mail section.

  1. In the SMTP server: text field enter smtp.colorado.edu

9. Next, click on the Click here for advanced receiving options button.

10. Check mark This IMAP service requires a secure connection (SSL), and then click on the square button in the top left section close this section, as shown below:

11. Now click on the Click here for advanced sending options button.

12. In the section that opens, check mark the following:

  1. SMTP service requires secure connection (SSL)
  2. SMTP server requires authentication
  3. Use the same settings as receiving mail server

13. Click on the square button in the top left section close this section, as shown below:

14. Click the Options tab.

15. In the Root folder: text field enter INBOX in all capital letters. Click the OK button.

16. You can now begin using Entourage 2008 to send and receive CULink e-mail messages.

 

Quick Start Configuration Settings

  • Incoming Mail Server
    • Type:  IMAP
    • Host: culink.colorado.edu
      • SSL Enabled
      • Authentication: Password
      • Port: 993
    • User name: your CU Login name
    • Password: your IdentiKey password
    • Root Folder Path: INBOX
  • Outgoing Mail Server
    • Type: SMTP
    • Host: smtp.colorado.edu
      • SSL Enabled
      • Authentication: Password
      • Port: 25
    • User name: your CU Login name
    • Password: your IdentiKey password
