Configuring Windows Eudora 7.0 for Authenticated SMTP

1. Open Eudora 7.0.

2. Click the Tools drop down menu and select Options.

3. Scroll along the left items and select Sending Mail, as shown below:

4. In the SMTP server: text field, type smtp.colorado.edu. Then, make sure that Allow authentication is check marked.

5. Under the Secure Sockets when Sending drop-down menu, select Required, STARTTLS.

6. Last, click OK. You are now properly configured to use culink.colorado.edu with the new SMTP server setting.

7. Now test what you have done by sending and receiving e-mail. You can do this by composing an e-mail to yourself, sending the e-mail, and checking for new messages. If this process runs successfully you have properly configured this e-mail program for authenticated SMTP.
