Configuring Outlook 2007
for Authenticated SMTP |

| 1. Open Microsoft Outlook. 2. Click the Tools drop down menu and select Account Settings.
3. Select your culink.colorado.edu account. Then, click the Change... button.
4. In the Account Settings window, type smtp.colorado.edu in the Outgoing mail server (SMTP) text field. Then click the More Settings... option.
7. In both the Outgoing server (SMTP) and the Incoming server (IMAP) section, be sure to select SSL from the drop-down menu. In the folders section, type in INBOX in the Root folder path: text field. (Note: the INBOX is case sensitive). Next, click the OK button.
8. Click the Next button to save changes.
9. In the next screen, click Finish. You are now properly configured to use culink.colorado.edu with the new SMTP server setting. 10. Now test what you have done by sending and receiving e-mail. You can do this by composing an e-mail to yourself, sending the e-mail, and checking for new messages. If this process runs successfully you have properly configured this e-mail program for authenticated SMTP.
