Overview

Folders are a very helpful way of organizing your course content. You can create folders to store all of the discussion topics, quizzes, or any group of content items that makes sense to students. This example uses a folder to group together discussion topics.

Follow the instructions below to learn about folders in CULearn.

Creating A Folder

1. To access your course content home page, click on Course Content, as shown below:

2. To create a folder, click on the Create Folder button, as shown below:

3. The Create Folder page will open. Fill out the Title and Description text fields.

4. To save this new folder, click on the Save button.

5. The new folder will now appear on the Course Content home page.

Moving a Content Item into a Folder

1. To move a content item into a folder, click on the drop-down action menu, as shown below:

2. Select Move to Folder.

3. A pop-up window will open. Click on the appropriate folder's link, as shown below:

4. The content item will now be available in the folder that you selected.

Creating a Content Link within a Folder

1. Creating a Content Link is an alternative way to move files into a folder. To do this, click on the folder link to open the folder.

2. Click on the Add Content Link drop-down menu, as shown below.

3. Select the type of content category, in this example, Discussions is selected.

4. From the inventory list, click on the content item that you want to link to and click on the Add Selected button, as shown below:

5. The content item is now linked and will appear inside the folder.
