Students—IdentiKey and CULink Information

In order to get the most out of the campus IT environment in your education you will need an e-mail account and an IdentiKey. ITS has created these for you, now you need to activate your IdentiKey.

IdentiKey

An IdentiKey account allows you to:

  • Use CUConnect, CU-Boulder’s student web portal.
  • Use CULink e-mail and calendar service.
  • Use campus computing labs.
  • Use Wireless network access across campus.
  • Access SkillSoft, ITS’ computer based training.
  • Log into CULearn, if you are enrolled in a class that is using it.

For more information about IdentiKeys, and to learn how to activate your Identikey, visit www.colorado.edu/its/docs/accounts/identikey.html.

E-mail and Calendar Service

Students receive an e-mail and calendar account through ITS's CULink service. CULink accounts are automatically created for students and become active when a student is confirmed for an active term at CU-Boulder.

  • CULink e-mail and calendar service is accessible with your CU Login Name and IdentiKey password (see above).
  • CULink e-mail and calendar can be accessed through CUConnect or from https://culink.colorado.edu.
  • CULink e-mail can be accessed through an e-mail program such as Outlook (please note: calendar events will not appear).

E-mail is an official means of communication on the CU-Boulder campus. This means that throughout your educational experience you will receive important information via e-mail from the university, as well as your professors, teaching assistants, college or school.

E-mail accounts on ucsu.colorado.edu
Through the spring 2008 semester, the student servers named ucsu and ucsub are being retired. People with accounts on either or both of those servers will be notified about the expiration of their account. Students who still have e-mail accounts on ucsu.colorado.edu, can change their password by logging into that account via a SSH terminal application and typing the command passwd. Or contact the IT Service Center for assistance (303-735-HELP [5-4357]).
