Chancellor's Graduate Award for Excellence in STEM Education
Quarter-time (25%) graduate research fellowships of up to one academic year are available to support discipline-based STEM education research and educational transformation. These funds must be matched by the student’s faculty advisor, department, or another source. Preference will be given to proposals involving PhD-level STEM education research within a disciplinary department or though an interdisciplinary program.
APPLICATION DEADLINE: Monday, April 1, 2013
HOW TO APPLY:Students should:
- Fill out a Proposal Cover Sheet
- Submit a one to five page proposal that includes:
- A description of the problem you will be addressing (citing relevant background research/theoretical framework)
- Your methodology, including a description of how you will evaluate your success.
- A timeframe for the project.
- A statement about how the proposed project will further your development, support STEM education within the home department, and benefit the CU community as a whole.
- Attach a current CV
- Fill out a Proposal Cover Sheet
- Submit a one-two page statement that includes:
- A mentoring description (how will you ensure your advisee’s successful completion of the project?)
- A discussion of departmental mechanisms for including the results of the research in the student’s degree program
- A description of the 25% matching funds or a discussion of why they cannot be provided
- Attach a current CV
- Attach a list of current and pending funding
