Research Interests

  • The Laboratory is a multi-user facility that is shared by several faculty in the Department of Integrative Physiology. The research interests of the involved faculty are indicated in their respective web pages.

Personnel

Dr. Mazzeo prepares a sample for injection into the HPLC for determination of plasma catecholamines.

  • The Laboratory comprises 3,000 ft2 and is located on the first floor of the Carlson Building.
  • The equipment includes: a Perkin-Elmer fluorimeter, a Beckman Model LS1701 Scintillation counter, an LKB-Pharmacia Wizard 1470 Gamma Counter, a Cambridge Technology Model 280 cell harvester, a Napco Model 5410 CO2 incubator, a Bio-Rad High Performance Liquid Chromatography System (Model 1330 Pump, Model 1340 Electrochemical Detector, and a Model C-R3A Shimadzu Integration System), a Nikon Microscope (Model 104), a Beckman high speed centrifuge (Model J2-21M), two Beckman counter-top centrifuges, two Forma Scientific ultra freezers, a Perkin-Elmer uv/vis spectrophotometer (Model C6320001), pH meters, analytical balances, gel electrophoresis, tissue homogenizers, a ventilated hood, a radioactive tracer room, a tissue cryostat, and an Image Analysis System (Zidas digitizing tablet and Zeiss microscope).
