Helen Huang has been awarded the post-doctoral prize for best poster presentation at the Annual Meeting of the Front Range Neuroscience Group. Her poster, entitled "Does actual metabolic cost decrease with motor learning?", was co-authored with R Kram and AA Ahmed.

 Christopher Arellano (Kram Lab) Receives Award for Outreach to Robotics Students
The University of Colorado Boulder's Arts and Sciences Community Involvement (ASCI) committee awarded Christopher J. Arellano $1500 to support his outreach proposal that promotes Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) based education to middle and high school students involved in the Casa de la Esperanza Robotics Academy in Longmont, Colorado.

 Jason Franz (Kram Lab) Receives Travel Award from Force and Motion Foundation
Graduate student, Jason Franz (Locomotion Laboratory) was awarded one of nine $500 travel scholarships worldwide from the Force and Motion Foundation (forceandmotion.org) for his project titled "Mechanical work performed by the individual legs during uphill and downhill walking." The Force and Motion Foundation assists promising graduate students in fields related to multi-axis force measurement and testing. Jason will use this travel scholarship to present his research at a scientific meeting in 2012.
