Testimonials

"Educating ourselves about the most pressing issues facing our world today is extremely important. But education as mere knowledge is not enough. At some point, our hearts need to take over our intellect, pushing us to listen to one another, to extend us beyond our comfort zones, beyond where we thought we could go. This is what the Interactive Theatre Project strives to do, and as such it has a vital role in CU's educational mission on campus and in the community."

"I found myself talking to my friends and family about the performance weeks after I attended."

"The experience was incredibly effective as a teaching exercise and for promoting honest discussion of a very prevalent but difficult topic. Overall, the classroom visit was better than I could have even imagined. It was powerful, evocative and educational."

"Thank you all so much for joining us at Fairview High School for Social Studies Day. Your presentation was amazing and very well-received. To quote one student's evaluation, 'This presentation was genuine and was one of the best ones I've been to. It was also very fulfilling to be able to interact and learn more.' You all definitely helped us to make this day a success! Thanks again for all of your time."

"Thank you so much for continuing to be a part of our volunteer training. As usual, your presentation is the highlight. Your performances are such a valuable teaching method and we greatly appreciate your support in our work."

"The Interactive Theatre Performance both allowed and forced me to seriously think about these issues in my own life. They also gave me a voice to share some very private fear with an audience.  After several years I still have colleagues coming to me and talking about that program and how it touched them."

"Thank you so much for the performance last night. I am leaving Boulder in a month, and would like to express my grattitude for your wonderful presence on this campus. I have been to many ITP performances that have sparked discussion inside and outside of the performance space. I wish everyone could have these same experiences. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for all that you (you meaning the entire troup) do. I am very inspired because of your work. Thank you, thank you, thank you!"     ~Love,| Erica

"Interactive Theatre is wonderful teaching. The first performance that I ever saw was presented to some 500 freshmen packed into CHEM 140. The topic was sexual responsibility presented in a scene involving date rape. I was moved far more than I expected to be. But most importantly I observed that the freshmen were moved to not only listen but get involved."

"I also wanted to say that these ITP's are really cool. I wasn't really that into them at first but after I wrote my extra credit paper I realized that these performances really did show me things i never realized and changed my attitude about how I look at certain issues.

"You're helping me....understand"
