The Issues

(itp) has facilitated over 2000 performances - generating dialogues that develop cultural competency, build ally skills, and encourage individuals to come together in creative conversations. Our scenes explore events affecting our communities, and provide a unique opportunity to understand the impact of these events from the perspectives of everyone involved.

(itp) has a library of over 300 original scenes, addressing:

  • Ability/Disability
  • Including scenes on: creating accessible and inclusive
    communities, challenges facing individuals with disabilities

  • Body Image
  • Including scenes on: eating disorders, the role of media,
    men and body image

  • Heterosexism & Homophobia
  • Including scenes on: bias-motivated assaults, roommates,
    coming out to friends and family

  • Identity
  • Including scenes on: intersections of identity,
    multiracial identity.

  • Privilige/Oppression
  • Including scenes on: dynamics of privilege and oppression,
    male privilege, white privilege.

  • Racism
  • Including scenes on: bias-motivated incidents, challenges of
    interracial relationships, being the only member of a racial/ethnic minority at work/school/an event, anti-Semitism.

  • Sexism & Sexual Assault
  • Including scenes on: dating relationships, the 1st-Year Student Orientation program
    'Just Another Party'.

  • Socio-Economic Status/Social Class
  • Including scenes on: work/school/life balance, money and relationships.

  • Suicide
