IN THE SPOTLIGHT People Behind the Scenes
Who keeps our university in top shape? It's the People Behind the Scenes! Meet Lynn Rodenhizer, assistant director of the CU Children's Center. What is one thing you would like people to know about the work you do? Being the assistant director at the CU Children’s Center often involves doing a little bit of everything. I particularly enjoy the variety of tasks, from enrolling families to learning about new accreditation standards and creating spreadsheets for tracking data. Our population is very diverse and allows me to learn so much about different types of people. We are continuously faced with challenges and finding new solutions to help meet them can be very rewarding. What do you like best about being a part of the CU community? The best part of being involved in the CU community is seeing how different everyone’s background, strengths, and interests are. Although it can make things complicated when working on a common goal, the commitment and perspective each person brings generates such a wide range of ideas. What is your favorite activity/interest outside of work? Outside of work, I enjoy experimenting with different creative projects, especially cooking. Since I avoid certain foods, I like to make up red meat and dairy free recipes for traditional comfort meals. Attempting – and often succeeding – keeps me interested in what could seem like a mundane task at times. I’m addicted to the Food Network and cooking helps me wind down after a busy day at work. |
